Our Story
🌿 The Story of Royal Shine™
It all started with a cracked leather sofa—and a “we should probably throw this out” moment.
In 2019, Royal Shine™ founders Tom and Emily Carter were settling into their first home together. Among the second-hand furniture and mismatched finds was one sentimental piece: a tired, sun-faded leather sofa that had been in Tom’s family for years.
It was dry. Cracked. Faded beyond recognition.
And yet… they couldn’t bear to part with it.
After trying half a dozen leather products that left it greasy, sticky, or worse—smelling like a hardware store—they realized something: most products weren’t made to restore. They were made to mask.
So they got to work.
🧪 From the Worktop to a Growing Brand
With a background in natural skincare formulation and a serious love for DIY, Emily began testing small-batch blends made with nourishing oils like jojoba, walnut, shea butter, and beeswax. Tom, a bit of a leather geek, tested every version on shoes, jackets, vintage bags—anything he could find.
One night, they wiped a final test batch onto that old sofa... and watched the leather come back to life.
That single wipe sparked something bigger.
Friends wanted it. Then neighbours. Then strangers online.
And just like that, Royal Shine™ was born.
